Exercises & Movements to Combat Osteoporosis

In the past 3 weeks, twice I have heard
"My bone density did NOT get worse!"

World Osteoporosis Day, October 20!   So, I am sharing with you 10 Free Video's from osteoporosis researchers and specialists.   Mentors such as Dr. Sherri Betz, Sara Meeks and many more were pulled together by Margie B.

10 FREE Video's of Osteoporosis support exercises and movements!

First, I recommend these modifications or additions to the movements in the first video with Dr. Sherri Betz:

Stretch out after the heel raises!   Choose one of the stretches below.

Seated calf stretch with a strap pulling up on the bottom of the foot with a straight leg.

Stabilize the spine prior to Sit/Stand:  Instead of using the stick during the exercise, use this exercise:  In the hinge position, practice the double arm reach

practice a stable spine hinge with a dowel on the back touching the primary masses of the head, ribs and tail when possible.

Support your lower back on Wall Reaches!   On the exercise at the very end (the one asked for by Margie at 14 min into the video), I recommend the exercise below instead - note the movement is small.  Gently square the hips and gently tuck the pelvis so as not to overly extend at the top of hips.  Remember to breath during the exercise.

Click here for the video's happy bones toolbox.  Note:  I will review these exercises and movements in class this coming week and give you a review of the 2nd video next week.   Ask for the review!  Let me know you are interested!

While I continue to guide you with new research and programs to improve your bone density, email me at Sandi@CoreCentricTraining.com if you have any questions.  I LOVE this stuff and am always up for conversing about it!

Our promise at Core Centric is to help you find more strength and confidence in all that you do!
